Let’s play Diddy Kong Racing! The colorful racing game with an adventure mode. Published by Rare for the N64 (Nintendo 64).
This was one of my childhood favorites! I put so many hours into this game and it was such a blast to experience it again and show it to Derrick who had never played before.
What made this game so unique at the time was the adventure mode! There was a small semblance of a story complete with “boss battles” a.k.a boss races, and levels that would open up and unlock as you progressed.
I personally enjoyed the characters, colors, and music (as well as the bouncy physics as you will hear during our play through).
