Tinker Bell Nendoroid 812 Review

G’day everyone! BelleAim here and today we’re reviewing Nendoroid number 812: Tinker Bell. If you’d like to watch my review, you can check it out on my YouTube Channel or watch it below.

Tinker Bell originally appeared in 1911 in a play by J. M. Barrie called Peter Pan, but is most widely recognized today from the Disney animated classic.

This design is based from the Walt Disney interpretation of her in the animated film, Peter Pan.

Box

The box looks pretty appealing upon first glance, with a nice light blue circle along with some pixie dust stars behind the main image of Tinker Bell. On the sides of the box are different pose examples that you can assemble using the included accessories.

But I think Tink is ready to get out of this box! You know how she hates to be confined.

Accessories

We have one level of packaging here and what is this?? Something’s different about this background… It looks like we can construct a golden lantern, just like the lantern Captain Hook traps Tink in when he tricks her to help him locate Peter Pan! That’s pretty clever.

Oh, look at this! Even more surprises! There’s a plastic backdrop with magic pixie dust whimsically spiraling for a nice scene setter. It seems sturdy enough and should provide a fun backdrop to put up behind Tink to set her apart.

Tinker Bell also comes with a little instruction booklet which lists all the parts included and how to change her face and attach her to the base.

Tinker Bell is so super cute! The paint job on her is great, just like all Nendoroids I’ve seen.

And check out these adorably tiny little fluff ball slippers! They are so small and cute!

It wouldn’t really be Tink without one of her classic annoyed faces. And luckily the people at Good Smile gave us this hilarious and super cute puffy cheek pouty face. It really captures her annoyance and frustration and will be so much fun to use to bring life to our Nendoroid.

Something unique about this Tinker Bell Nendoroid is this extra stand she comes with. I think it’s supposed to be a trail of pixie dust, but to be honest with you, I thought it was a swirl of hair at first. I like the iridescent appearance they were able to achieve. Its almost like there is a golden glow about it.

The pixie dust stand isn’t the only one that comes with this set, we also have the typical clear nendoroid stand, but we do get a little something different here. We get an extra long support piece so Tink can fly high in the sky above all the other non-flying nendoroids.

Tinker Bell doesn’t have the most accessories I’ve ever seen, but she does have a few sets of limbs that will allow her poses to have some variety. It looks like we have a set for crossing her arms and having them close to her body as well as fully extended arms and more relaxed fluttery arms. She also has legs that will allow her to kneel down on the ground on her shins and also an extra leg with a bend in it for a bit more attitude or a more dynamic pose while flying.

A special part about Tink is her wings. And not only are they able to fully be removed, but they can be rotated and angled. Removing the wings could be helpful when attaching her arms by having less things in the way. However, I noticed that this clear plastic isn’t as durable as the regular joint pieces, so I would take caution when changing her wing positions. Sadly, one of my wing joints broke when I got too carried away trying out different wing placements.

That about does it for everything in the box, so lets see just how adorable we can get Tink to be.

Pose Examples

This is absolutely the cutest Tinker Bell I have ever seen! She looks so adorable and innocent, I just want to scoop her up and hold her in the palm of my hand.

This pose is so much fun! She definitely looks angry and determined to take down whatever is standing in her way! I can just imagine her chewing some gum while she leans against a wall to plot out her course of action.

Another fun attitude pose! She would probably get annoyed at me saying it, but she is so cute when she’s mad like this! I can almost hear her little foot stomping down in disagreement.

So the lantern…. It’s fun that they included this… project. But I have to admit it looks a little silly compared to the quality of the nendoroid. And now there isn’t a background when Tinker Bell is inside the box. So if you like keeping and displaying the boxes, I might hold off on this craft. It was pretty fun to put it together and they did a great job approximating the lantern from the movie, but some of the creases make it hard to appear strong as if it’s metal.

This is one of my favorite ways to display Tinker Bell. She looks so happy and by simply changing up an arm and leg position, it brings a little more life to the pose. It also brings verticality to your Nendoroid collection!

Conclusion

Tinkerbell is a fun cutie and I love her free-moving wings and how her stand is extra long so she can soar above the rest.

This set doesn’t come with a whole lot of accessories or expressions, but the two that are included are a good essential pair, with the angry face being a lot of fun. Her happy smile is pretty generic, but I’m glad it’s included and its still super cute. I would have liked to see maybe an open-mouth yelling face, or a closed eye cute look. The lantern craft and background was a fun addition to kind of make up for the lack of expressions and can make Tinker Bell stand apart while on display, but to be honest, I would have rather had an additional accessory or expression.

My only complaint is that her wing joint didn’t hold up and broke while I was changing her wing position so now one of her wings won’t stay in place. Oh well, I guess it could be the Tink with the broken wing from the Tinker Bell movie: Secret of the Wings

I’m giving this Nendoriod a “like” and would recommend her to anyone who enjoys Disney, Peter Pan, Tinker Bell, or Nendoroids.
